WVU Parkersburg Psi Beta honorary inducts new members.

PSI BETA INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS. New members were recently inducted into the West Virginia University at Parkersburg chapter of the Psi Beta psychology honor society. Inductees for the spring ceremony included the following: (seated, left to right) Pam Roy, Kelly Roy, Emily Busch, and Rose Hammell; (standing, left to right) Penney Simonton, Judy Pacquette, and Clarissa Coleman; and Danita Brown, interim dean of students and induction ceremony keynote speaker; (third row, left to right) chapter advisors Cathy Mutz, associate professor of psychology and director of campus disability services, and Phil McClung, professor of psychology. Psi Beta is the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges. The campus group is the state’s first charter chapter. Membership is limited to students who rank in the top 35 percent, hold at least a "B" average in psychology, demonstrate a genuine interest in psychology and maintain high standards of personal behavior and integrity. The mission of Psi Beta is to encourage professional development of psychology students in two-year colleges through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research and community service.
