WVU Parkersburg appoints director of information technology.

A computer systems administrator with more than 20 years of experience is the new director of information technology at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Jeffrey Wilbur was selected for the administrative position following a national search.
His background combines expertise in project management, infrastructure, emerging technologies and enterprise resource planning.
“Jeff’s experience in both the manufacturing field as well as academia brings a wealth of expertise to the administration and strategic planning of the college's technology systems,” noted WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage.
Most recently, Wilbur was the management information systems executive manager for Lang-Mekra North America in Ridgeway, SC, a heavy truck parts supplier with annual North American sales of $63 million. Prior to that, Wilbur served as director of computer technology for Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida for ten years.
As WVU Parkersburg’s IT director, he is responsible for WVU Parkersburg’s data, phone and video networks, applications and web environments as well as the institution’s technology infrastructure and services to support instructional, student, and administrative functions.
Wilbur received his bachelor’s degree in information systems from Eckerd College and his master’s in instructional technology from the University of South Florida. He is also a certified Microsoft and Novell engineer.
