December 16, 2008WVU Parkersburg appoints Leslie Sims as college registrar.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASELeslie Sims is the new registrar at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
After a regional search, Mrs. Sims was appointed to the position following the retirement of Cecelia Malhotra who served as registrar and director of admissions. Mrs. Sims had been serving in an interim capacity in the position.
“We are delighted that Leslie has assumed this role,” noted Anthony Underwood, WVU Parkersburg dean of students. “Her insight into the institution’s student record-keeping processes is a significant plus in assuring the efficient management of academic records and the smooth coordination of the registration process.”
Mrs. Sims has been WVU Parkersburg’s associate registrar since 2000. Prior to that, she was a records associate at Washington State Community College from 1996 to 2000.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, Business Principles (Grades 5-12) from Glenville State College and her master’s degree in Computer Education/Technology from Ohio University.
She is the president elect of the West Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers which includes close to 100 members representing staff involved in the registration and admission processes at WV higher education institutions.
She and her husband have a daughter and reside in Davisville.
