WVU Parkersburg faculty receive promotions in rank, tenure.

Ten West Virginia University at Parkersburg faculty have received promotions in rank and one has been awarded tenure, effective with the fall semester.

Receiving promotions are Mark Bruce, from instructor to assistant professor of  English and Social Science; Gregg Busch, from instructor to assistant professor of Sociology; Dianne Davis, from instructor to assistant professor of Business Technology; Jenny Dawkins from assistant professor to associate professor of Computer Information and Technology; Jeff Holland, from instructor to assistant professor of Business; Marilyn Love, from instructor to assistant professor of Mathematics; Craig Rabatin, from instructor to assistant professor of Engineering Technology, Lisa Straight, from assistant professor to associate professor of Nursing; Rebecca Tucker, from instructor to assistant professor of Biology, and Doug Weaver, from assistant professor to associate professor of Computer Science.

Tenure, a special status awarded by an institution following a term of service, is awarded to Chase Brady, assistant professor of Mathematics.

Bruce received an associate in arts degree from Parkersburg Community College, a bachelor of arts from Marietta College and a master's from Ohio University.  He has been at the college since 1999.  A member of the Social Sciences Division, Busch has been at the college since 2002.  He received a bachelor's degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science at Xavier University and a master's from West Virginia University.  Ms. Davis received her bachelor of science degree from WVU Parkersburg and her master's from WVU.  She has been at the college since 2003.

Ms. Dawkins earned a bachelor of science degree from West Liberty State College and a master's from the WV Graduate College.  She has been a member of the Technology Division since 2002.  Chair of the Business and Economics Division, Holland joined the college in 2001.  He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from WVU.  Ms. Love is coordinator of the college's Jackson County Center learning center.  She has been at WVU Parkersburg since 2000.  She received a bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University and a master's from Potsdam State University.

A member of the Technology Division since 2001, Rabatin earned his bachelor and master's degrees from WVU.  Ms. Straight received an associate degree from PCC, and a bachelor's and master's from WVU.  She taught at WVU Parkersburg in 1999-2003 and returned in 2004.  Ms. Tucker teaches at the college's Jackson County Center.  She has been at JCC since 2004.  She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Charleston and a master's from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies.   Weaver joined the faculty in 1999.  He received a bachelor's degree from Cedarville College and a master's from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. 

Brady joined the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division in 2001.  He received a bachelor of arts degree from New College of the University of South Florida, and a master's degree from both the University of Alaska and Miami University of Ohio.
