FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEAn adjunct instructor at
West Virginia University at Parkersburg has had two literary reviews published this month by the Book Report Network.Joy Held's works appear on www.teenreads.com, the syndicate’s website for young adult readers.
Held reviewed Tamora Pierce's latest book "TERRIOR: A TORTAL LEGEND, Beka Cooper, volume #1." Pierce is the author of over 20 young adult novels. Held traveled to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2005 to interview her. "TERRIOR" is the first in a new fantasy series by Pierce who writes fictional tales about strong young women in a pseudo-medieval setting called Tortal.
Also published on the site is another review by Held of the newest release from Appalachian author Cynthia Rylant. "LUDIE’S LIFE" is a book-length narrative poem in which Rylant depicts the life of a woman born and raised in the mountains.
Held teaches dance at WVU Parkersburg and is a guest lecturer for several literature classes.
