WVU Parkersburg forensics team wins individual honors

WVU Parkersburg students capture individual honors in area forensics tournaments.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's forensics team captured individual honors at two recent tournaments.

At the Muskingham Invitational Tournament, three WVU Parkersburg students participated in the competition. Brittany Huffman and Kaleb Smith received second place for duo interpretation. Smith captured fourth place for poetry interpretation and the two took fourth place for Whoppers, an event unique to the Muskingham tourney. Patricia Lynch participated in informative as a novice. This was her first competition.

Proceeds from the Muskingham tournament benefit Jacob's Fund, a source of support for families who have lost children at birth or in early childhood.

Two WVU Parkersburg students participated in the Ohio State University Generic Tournament which is the last qualifying tournament of the year for individual events competition. Ms. Huffman received fourth place for poetry interpretation and Smith was named fifth in poetry interpretation. They teamed to take fourth place in duo interpretation.
