Media Advisory

During the week of Oct. 1, 2006, several activities are planned as part of West Virginia University at Parkersburg's observance of its 45th anniversary and the 35th anniversary of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation, Inc. Among these are:

Monday, Oct. 2
Noon, College Activities Center

Founders' Luncheon with David C. Hardesty Jr., president of West Virginia University, as keynote speaker.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

Noon, Corporate and Community Education Building

Foundation Luncheon with WV Secretary of State Betty Ireland as keynote speaker. Also attending the luncheon will be WV First Lady Gayle Manchin.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

1:30 p.m., Room 1325, Main College Building

WV First Lady Gayle Manchin to celebrate the establishment of the college’s Center for Teaching Excellence. A virtual ribbon cutting will be held as part of the Center's opening. The Center is a state-of-the-art teacher resource and technology facility for use by area public school teachers and developed by the college's Education Division.
