WVU at Parkersburg Board of Advisors elects Jackson County resident as chair.

Linda Dickirson of Ripley is the new chair of the West Virginia University at Parkersburg Board of Advisors following board elections.
A Jackson County community volunteer and educator, Mrs. Dickirson replaces Joe D. Campbell of WesBanco as chair of the board. James Hayhurst, Jr. of United Bankshares, Inc. has been elected vice chair.
As chair of the Parkersburg board, Mrs. Dickirson will also serve as a member of the West Virginia University Board of Governors. This marks the first time that a Jackson County resident has been elected to lead the Parkersburg campus' advisory board.
Other members of the WVU Parkersburg board include Robert J. D'Avria of YMCA of the USA; George Kellenberger of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley; Curtis P. Miller of Curtis Miler Insurance Agency, Inc.; William Niday of Wood County Schools; Jim Mylott of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council; Joyce Okes of Region IV Workforce Investment Board; Tony Playtis of E.I. DuPont de Nemours; Trudy Seita of Trudy Seita Associates; Gregory K. Smith of Mountain State Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and constituent representatives student David Cumberledge, faculty member Ed Crisp and classified staff member Violet Mosser.
The Parkersburg board serves in an advisory capacity to the college, its Jackson County Center and WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage. In addition to Wood and Jackson, the college's service area includes Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler and Wirt counties.
