FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The president of West Virginia University at Parkersburg has been selected to serve on a national community college commission.
Marie Foster Gnage has accepted a three-year appointment to the Commission on Academic, Student and Community Development of the American Association of Community Colleges.
AACC commissions advise the national AACC board and staff on public policy issues, professional development and program initiatives. The commissions encourage collaboration among community college entities and organizations and provide a forum for discussions about important community colleges issues and priorities.
AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation's community colleges. The association represents more than 1,100 associate degree-granting institutions and some 10 million students.
