"Basic Marketing for Non-Profits: Telling Your Story and Telling it Often" will be presented Friday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
The non-credit class will cover the basic principles of marketing, and how to share your non-profit information with the public on a shoestring budget. Participants will develop a media list and will begin to create a marketing plan for their organization that takes advantage of free and inexpensive avenues for publicity. Meeting in the college's BIDS center, the class will be taught by Lisa Starcher Collins of Charity Match.
Collins is the former CEO of Artsbridge, Inc, and has been self-employed with Charity Match since 2003. She is a published writer and presents weekly arts and entertainment updates for WTAP-TV and various radio stations. She worked for three newspapers and two magazines before beginning her career in arts administration, and continues to work with media as a contractor with local marketing firms.
Collins teaches regular grantwriting classes at the BIDS center. Cost for the marketing class is $55 per person. Complete information is available at www.charitymatch.org, or by calling Becky Ash at the college, (304) 424-8275.
