WVU Parkersburg student teachers to display performance portfolios, discuss their classroom experiences.

A Performance Portfolio Exhibit by teacher candidates in West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Elementary Education program will be on display Thursday (Dec. 15) as part of the college’s Partnerships Project with Wood County elementary schools. The portfolios reflect the future teachers’ experiences in Wood County Schools during the past semester.

The portfolios will be on display from 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Dec. 15^th, at Mineral Wells Elementary School. The WVU-P students will be available to discuss their experiences and accomplishments.

The Partnership Project recently received a grant of $125,000 to continue its unique professional development initiative. WVU Parkersburg teaches its EDU 330 Instructional Strategies course at the partnership schools so its teacher candidates can be in an elementary classroom setting to learn and apply concepts and skills to utilize as teachers.
