WVU Parkersburg forensics team captures honors at area invitational tournament.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s forensics team captured one first place, two second place and third place honors at Marietta College’s Ruth A. Wilcox Invitational Tournament.

Brittany Huffman of Parkersburg won first place in informative speaking and second place in both poetry and prose interpretation. Rebecca McClung of Parkersburg captured second place honors in prose interpretation.

Kaleb Smith of Vienna received third place honors in dramatic interpretation and fifth place in after-dinner speaking. Smith and Ms. Huffman teamed to receive fourth place honors for dramatic duo interpretation.

In the new category of public relations extemporaneous, Miss Huffman took sixth place. Candy Jacenkiw received seventh place honors in prose and dramatic interpretation.

WVU Parkersburg's team is coached by Barbara Harris, instructor of speech.
