Education Division chair named to state review board.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEThe chair of West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Education Division has been appointed to a statewide review board.
Cindy Kelley, professor of education, will serve a three-year term on the West Virginia Educator Preparation Program Review Board. In making the appointment, J. Michael Mullen, chancellor of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, cited Kelley's extensive background in teacher preparation and education curriculum in appointing her to the term.
The seven-member Educator Preparation Program Review Board (EPPRB) is established by the West Virginia Board of Education. It is charged with reviewing all initially proposed programs in order to submit or withhold a recommendation for program approval to the WVBE. The board also reviews all proposed substantive changes to existing WVBE-approved programs and submits or withholds a recommendation for acceptance of such changes to the WVBE. In addition, the EPPRB reviews reports from accreditation boards to recommend institutions’ programs for continuing program approval.
Kelley received her bachelor of arts degree from Glenville State College, her master's from West Virginia University and her Ph.D. from Ohio University. She has been at WVU Parkersburg since 1991.
