Several college staff and faculty have been contacted to offer expertise in the coming weeks and months of recovery.
Also, WVU Parkersburg is exploring options to provide courses to college students displaced by Katrina.
In addition, the college's Jackson County Center is making plans to co-sponsor a free concert by several local and regional bands. It is scheduled Friday, Sept. 23 from 5 to 10 p.m. at JCC in Ripley and is open to the public. Monetary donations collected at the concert will go to the Red Cross' relief efforts in the Gulf coast. Also at JCC, the college's Reading Association will be collecting children's books for those families who have been relocated to Camp Dawson in Pendleton County.
