WVU Parkersburg student ambassador program seeks participants.

CONTACT:  Violet Mosser, senior admissions counselor, 304-424-8213.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The student ambassador program at West Virginia University at Parkersburg is seeking new participants.

The program gives students an opportunity to be involved in promoting the institution while gaining valuable skills.

"The primary duties of our student ambassadors are to provide campus tours and help with our annual open house and other college activities, such as Commencement," said Violet Mosser, senior admissions counselor.  "But this is also an opportunity for students to enhance their leadership abilities and increase their communication skills."

Currently, the program involves 10 student ambassadors and the college plans to add five more.

Student ambassadors must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, be in good financial standing with the college and have attended WVU Parkersburg for two consecutive semesters.  Those accepted into the ambassador program will receive training and begin their duties this fall.

Applications may be picked up in the college's Records and Admissions Office.  Additional information is available by contacting Mrs. Mosser at 424-8213.
