WVU Parkersburg captures second place overall in state intercollegiate forensics tournament.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's forensics team captured four first-place individual awards and second place overall at the 2004 West Virginia Intercollegiate Forensics Association's state tournament.
Five West Virginia colleges participated in the tourney which was held at WVU Parkersburg.
Taking first place in the individual events team category and first place overall in the sweepstakes team competition was Alderson-Broaddus College. WVU Parkersburg captured second place for individual events team and second place overall for sweepstakes team.
WVU Parkersburg's students took honors in: Dramatic Interpretation - first place, Kaleb Smith, and second place, Brittany Huffman; Informative - first place, Candace Hinzman, and fourth place, Brittany Huffman; Prose - first place, Kaleb Smith; fourth place, Brittany Huffman, and fifth place, Jill Canter; After-Dinner Speaking - first place, Jon Corra, and fifth place, Molly Robrecht; Poetry - third place, Brittany Huffman, and sixth place, Barbara Schwenk; Oral Interpretation - third place, Rebecca McDonald, and fourth place, Brittany Huffman;Impromptu - third place, Brittany Huffman, and fifth place, Jon Corra; Dramatic Duo Interpretation, third place, Hinzman/Huffman; Persuasion - third place, Rebecca McDonald; Pentathlon - second place, Brittany Huffman.
In addition to A-B and WVU Parkersburg, others participating in the tournament included Shepherd College, Marshall University and Fairmont State College.
