A delegation of educators from West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Wood County Schools will make presentations at a national conference this week (March 4-7) in Orlando, FL.
Two WVU Parkersburg faculty members, four Wood County Schools' principals, and one Wood County teacher will be giving presentations at the 2004 Professional Development Schools National Conference.
Making a presentation on "Mentoring the Mentor Teacher: Training Mentor Teachers in PDS Schools" will be Vickie Hyre, teacher at Mineral Wells Elementary School; Cindy Gissy, assistant professor at WVU Parkersburg, and Cindy Kelley, chair of the Education Division at WVU Parkersburg.
Also presenting at the conference will be Wood County Schools' administrators Karen Brunicardi, Liz Conrad, Rose Mary Stull, and Joe Oliverio. The title of their presentation is “Principals’ Perspectives: Principal Leadership in PDS Schools.”
The presenters are representing the Partnerships Project, the professional development school program through WVU Parkersburg's Education Division.
