FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Hondros College are offering area realtors the opportunity to earn the Accredited Buyer Representative designation.
The ABR designation is considered the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation, according to Randy Willett, WVU Parkersburg program coordinator. The designation is awarded by the Real Estate BUYER'S AGENT Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), to real estate practitioners who meet specified educational and practical experience criteria.
Requirements to receive the ABR designation include participation in a comprehensive two-day REBAC course and a passing grade of 80% or higher on the course exam; attendance at a six-hour elective course offered by WVU Parkersburg and Hondros; demonstrated completion of five closed real estate transactions in the field of buyer representation anytime prior to taking the course and up to three years after, and membership in good standing of the NAR.
The two-day REBAC course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 12 and 13 at the WVU Parkersburg Business, Industry and Development Services building. The six-hour elective course in innovative marketing will be offered May 14. Both courses earn continuing education credits for realtors in West Virginia and Ohio.
Registration information is available by contacting the BIDS office at 424-8275.
