FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Final exam week can be stressful for college students.  So West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Student Services Division is sponsoring a series of free "stress buster" activities ranging from massage therapy sessions to frozen turkey bowling.

Fall semester finals are Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 8-9) and Thursday and Friday (Dec. 11-12) with Wednesday (Dec. 10) as a mid-week study day.

"We've planned activities to help students cope with the stressfulness of final exams," noted Dotty Muir, dean of students.  "These are designed to give students some breathing space in an otherwise hectic week of exams."

Students interested in hitting the books on Sunday (Dec. 7) can do so in the campus student lounge which will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. with free pizza available.  Throughout finals week, a stress buster booth with free snacks will be open in the multi-purpose room.

On Monday (Dec. 8), a test anxiety workshop will be offered at 10 a.m. in Room 2536.  Students needing to take a break from studies can participate in an exercise workout at 12:15 p.m., Monday (Dec. 8) in the aerobics room.  Also, various puzzles and board games will be in the aerobics room on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Dec. 8-9 and 11) for students seeking diversions.

A supply of free coffee, donuts and cookies will be available in the multipurpose room from 8 to 10 a.m. and 3:30-6 p.m., Monday (Dec. 8).  On Tuesday (Dec. 9), assorted fruit snacks will be offered in the multipurpose room, beginning at 10 a.m.

Free massage therapy sessions will be available from 2:30 to 5 p.m., Monday (Dec. 8) and 8 to 10 a.m., Thursday (Dec. 11), in the aerobics room.   Students can unwind with a game of frozen turkey bowling from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday (Dec. 11) in the cafeteria.
