WVU Parkersburg faculty receive promotions in rank, tenure.

Five West Virginia University at Parkersburg faculty members have received promotions in rank and one faculty has been awarded tenure, effective with the fall 2002 semester.
Receiving promotions in rank are Doug Weaver, from instructor to assistant professor, computer science; Rose Beebe, from associate professor to professor, nursing; Cheryl Brumfield, from assistant professor to associate professor, nursing; Beth Cox, from instructor to assistant professor, art, and Lisa Straight, from instructor to assistant professor, nursing.
Tenure, a special status awarded by an institution following a term of service, has been given to Chris Cunningham, assistant professor, mathematics.
"We are delighted to recognize the quality of instruction and service to the institution modeled by our faculty," said Erik Bitterbaum, president of WVU Parkersburg.
