WVU Parkersburg observes Mental Health Awareness Week Oct. 6-12, 2002.

In observance of Mental Health Awareness Week, the state executive director of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill will speak on “New Mental Health Laws and How They Affect You” on Thursday, Oct. 10, at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Michael Ross’ presentation will be at 7:30 p.m. in Room 2536. The program is free and open to the public.
The college is sponsoring his presentation and several other activities to increase public awareness of mental and emotional disorders. A candlelight vigil was held Sunday (Oct. 6) at the City Park as part of the observance.
