DEAN RECEIVES STATE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

A West Virginia University at Parkersburg administrator is the 2002 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award given by the West Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators. 

Judy Higgs, WVU Parkersburg dean of students, was honored for her outstanding achievement over an extended period of time in the student affairs field.  Nominees are evaluated on service to WVASPA and overall contributions to the field of student personnel.  The award was made at the recent fall WVASPA conference.

Mrs. Higgs has served as dean of students since 1984.  She has held various positions at the college including instructor, counselor and assistant to the president.  She first came to the Parkersburg campus in 1969 as an English instructor.  She will retire from the college in January.
