FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Backdoor Comedy Club will feature an impressionist and a juggler Friday, April 5, at the college.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8. Headliners are impressionist Tom Cotter and juggler Bill Fry.
Boston native Cotter uses a combination of impressions and wacky anecdotes in his stand-up routine. He has also been featured in dozens of television commercials, including McDonald’s, Doritos, Pepsi and Amstel Lite. He won the 15th annual Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition, as the Boston Herald noted "winning by the largest margin of victory in the history of the event."
Fry has appeared at over 400 colleges and universities in the past 10 years. He is the 2001 Variety Entertainer of the Year for the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities. His routine features original, fast-paced and funky comedic juggling with lots of audience participation.
Tickets are $4 for the general public, and $2 in advance for students/faculty/staff. They are available in the college business office. All tickets at the door are $4. For additional information, contact Tom Yencha, director of student activities, 424-8309.
