Wirt Wellness Fair April 10

A Wellness Fair will be held Tuesday, April 10, in the multi-purpose room of the Wirt County Senior Citizens Center in Elizabeth.
Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to noon. The fair is open to the public.
Fair sponsors include the Nursing Department at West Virginia University at Parkersburg in conjunction with a grant from the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Charitable Fund and the Wirt County Commission on Aging and Family Services.
The wellness fair will offer an opportunity to find out ways to improve diet and lifestyles. Information offered by the WVU Parkersburg nursing students will consist of blood pressure screenings, glucose testing, nutritional information regarding proper diet and exercise, stress relievers and tobacco use and its effects on health. Local health care organizations will also be presenting at this event. These include: the Coplin Clinic will have a display table to promote the Clinic’s services; Camden Clark Housecalls; R.O.S.E.; the Anwar Clinic will be doing vision screenings; and Parrish Hearing will be doing hearing screenings. Cholesterol Screenings will be available for $10.80 and PSA testing for $15.00. Seniors 60 and over can get their Cholesterol checked for $5.00.
