To Discuss History of Environmental Movement

Wisconsin’s secretary of state will discuss the history of the environmental movement in a free presentation Wednesday (April 18) at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Dr. Douglas LaFollette, Wisconsin secretary of state and an environmentalist, will discuss "Black Smoke to Backlash" at noon, Wednesday, in Room C102 in the Caperton Center.

The program is free and open to the public. WVU Parkersburg’s Earth Club is sponsoring the presentation.

Dr. LaFollette received his bachelor of science degree from Marietta College, his master’s in chemistry from Stanford University, and his doctorate in organic chemistry from Columbia University. He also studied at the University of Freiberg, Germany as an international research associate and at the University of Wisconsin as a research associate.
