Web Site Developed for Alumni Association

News Release

Contact Dianne Davis, development assistant of alumni affairs , 304-424-8340, for additional information.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Alumni Association now has its own web site. The alumni association’s link can be accessed at the college’s site at www.wvup.wvnet.edu/alumni/index.htm.

The association is seeking names and addresses of college alumni to build a database and make connections with former students.

"If anyone has been a student at WVU Parkersburg or any of the college’s past names (Parkersburg Community College and Parkersburg Branch of WVU) and completed at least one class for college credit, they are considered alumni," Dianne Davis, development assistant of alumni affairs, noted.

"Each and every student is important to us and we want to hear from them. Please let us know where you are and what you have been doing," she added. She noted that students can access the new web site and e-mail information to her so she can begin developing a "class notes" section to be posted on the web page.

The Alumni Association has several activities planned in the future. A workshop is set for April 4 on campus to help prospective employees prepare for the job search, develop a resume, "dress for success" and conduct a successful interview. Anyone interested in pre-registration for this workshop can call Ms. Davis at 424-8340. The workshop will be free but attendance will be limited.

A Rail Trail picnic/bike ride/ hiking party is tentatively being scheduled for this summer. This will be a get together for alumni and their families along the North Bend Rail Trail at Cairo. Another event that is being explored is a Halloween project. Those interested in being involved can contact Ms. Davis for more details.
