An Austrian classic opens West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s 2001-2002 International Film Series on Thursday, Oct. 25.

Michael Haneke’s "Funny Games" will be featured in the series sponsored by the college’s Humanities Division. The free showing will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in Room 1305 at the college. It is open to the public.

A cinematic tour-de-force of terror, the film is brilliant, radical and provocative, according to film series coordinator Randy Oldaker, WVU Parkersburg assistant professor.

An audience discussion about the nature of violence in society will be led by Oldaker following the film.
