PTK Chapter Honored at International Convention

West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter received three outstanding awards at the 2000 PTK International Convention held recently in Orlando, FL.

WVU-Parkersburg’s Sigma Omega chapter of PTK won the Leadership Hallmark award. The Hallmark Award recognizes excellence in programs and projects that promote the PTK hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.

Chapter president Amanda Ray received the Distinguished Chapter President Award, and Journalism Professor Dottie Bibbee was awarded the Paragon Award for New Advisors. Outstanding chapters, advisors, members and college presidents are recognized for their achievements at the PTK convention each year.

PTK is the international honor society for two-year colleges. There are more than 1,200 chapters at community, technical and junior colleges in all 50 states, Canada, Germany, Japan and U.S. territories abroad.
