Course of Study

Students studying on a full-time basis may normally expect to complete the certificate in one calendar year.  To complete the certificate, students must complete the following courses with a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0:

          MATH 021        Elementary Algebra  - 4 credit hours

First Semester

BIOL 109        Anatomy & Physiology  1 - 3 credit hours
BTEC 253       Medical Terminology - 3 credit hours
ENGL 101      Composition 1 - 3 credit hours
ST 101            Introduction to Surgical Technology - 6 credit hours
 
Second Semester
BIOL 110     Intro to Microbiology for Surgical Tech - 3 credit hours
PHIL 346      Intro to Ethics - 3 credit hours
ST 114          Pharmacology for ST - 3 credit hours
ST 111          Patient Care Concepts 1 - 6 credit hours
Summer Session
ST 112        Patient Care Concepts 2 - 8 credit hours
Total Credits for Certificate  38
