Skills Set Certificate-
Certified Nursing Assistant/Phlebotomist
Certified Nursing Assistant/Phlebotomist This entry level on the nursing career ladder is designed to prepare students to pass the WV State Exam for nursing assistants which certifies them to work in a long term care health facility providing personal care to patients. This skill certificate provided classroom, clinical and skill lab components.
Degree Certificates
Allied Health
This degree certificate prepares a student for entry into the nursing program or other health care fields. It allows the student to choose a pathway to certified nursing assistant and phlebotomist as an alternative to nursing. Upon successful completion of this degree certificate and completion of the certification exams the graduate will have opportunities for employment in long term care facilities, clinics, physician offices, and laboratories.
Certified Pharmacy Technician
This program prepares qualified individuals to
function as pharmacy technicians under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
As an integral member of the pharmacy staff, the pharmacy technician utilizes
appropriate techniques and procedures to prepare and dispense medications in
both the community and institutional pharmacy settings. The pharmacy technician
also maintains patient profiles and manages inventory.
Through a combination of classroom presentations, campus laboratory practice
and clinical experiences, the student will develop a knowledge of the roles and
responsibilities of the pharmacy technician in the safe preparation and delivery of
medications to patients. Clinical and community practice experiences are under licensed
pharmacist supervision at local hospital and retail pharmacies. Since the pharm tech program began in 2008, it has boasted a 100 percent pass rate on the Pharmacy Technician National Certification Exam.

Science Degrees
Surgical Technology This new A.A.S. degree program prepares qualified individuals to
work under the supervision of a surgeon to assist the safe and efficient
performance of invasive surgical procedures, make certain that the operating
room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the
operative procedure is performed under optimal conditions that ensures patient
safety.
As an integral member of the surgical team, the surgical technologist
works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical
personnel delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities
before, during and after surgery.
Students develop a knowledge of the surgical environment,
instrumentation, procedures and supplies necessary to ensure safe care
of the surgical patient.
Clinical experiences are offered under faculty and mentor
supervision at Camden-Clark Medical Care facilities , Marietta Memorial Hospital,
Selby General Hospital, Thomas Memorial, Charleston Area Medical Center and
other selected community agencies. The surgical technology program is accredited by the
Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.

Nursing
The A.A.S. degree is designed to guide qualified students through structured learning
experiences in health care settings to meet eligibility requirements for the National
Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEXRN). This program is
approved by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered
Professional Nurses and accredited by the
