The Douglass Adams Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1975 by his family, friends, and business associates. Scholarships are awarded to capable and deserving students at West Virginia University at Parkersburg on the basis of their academic achievement and their participation in school and community affairs. First preference for recipients of this scholarship is given to the children and grandchildren of United National Bank employees. Mr. Adams was respected as a business, civic and educational leader. He was also President of the college's Advisory Board in 1970.
