New Board
Members Appointed to WVU at Parkersburg Foundation Board
Six new members have been appointed to the
WVU at Parkersburg Foundation Board of Directors.
“The WVU at Parkersburg Foundation is
greatly honored to welcome our new board members who bring a variety of
talents and backgrounds, ” said C. Randall Law,
president of the Foundation’s board. "We look forward to their
leadership and involvement as the board works to increase our region’s
charitable support of West Virginia University at Parkersburg."
Appointed to three-year terms, the new
board members include:

Mr. Mike Miller.
Miller
is healthcare administrator of Ohio Valley Health Care in the Cedar Grove,
WV community. He is a graduate of Parkersburg Community College, now
WVU at Parkersburg. His community involvement includes serving
on the Claywood Park Public Service Commission, a member of the West
Virginia Health Care Association, and member of the American Health Care
Association. He resides in the Cedar Grove, WV area.

Ms. Marilyn Pettit.
Pettit
is co-owner of DaVinci’s Restaurant in Williamstown, WV and a Registered
Nurse. She is also a graduate of Parkersburg Community College, now
WVU at Parkersburg. She is involved as a member of the Parkersburg
Woman’s Club, Toastmasters, and First Baptist Church Board of Trustees.
Pettit resides in Parkersburg, WV.

Mr. Samuel B. “Tres”
Ross, III.
Ross is internet development manager at Simonton Windows. He is
involved in the community by assisting SW Resources with technology matters,
chair of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation marketing workgroup, and guest
lectures at West Virginia University’s Business and Economics Department in
the MIS program. Ross recently completed his Executive MBA through WVU
on the campus of WVU at Parkersburg. He resides in Parkersburg, WV.

Mr. Roger Sheppard.
Sheppard is Station Manager and Vice President of WTAP-TV. Sheppard’s
community involvement includes serving on the board of the Chamber of
Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley, past president of the Lincoln Elementary
School PTA, and is the house drummer with the Smoot Theatre Big Band.
He resides in Parkersburg, WV.

Mr. Randall Snider.
Snider is President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Bank.
Snider’s community involvement includes serving on the board of the
Parkersburg YMCA, the board of the Parkersburg Area Roundtable, and is
chairman of the Bankers’ Bank of Kentucky Board. He resides in
Parkersburg, WV.

Dr. Rusty “Joe” Weaver.
Dr.
Weaver is an optometrist and owner of Vienna Eye Clinic. Dr. Weaver
serves on the Vienna Recreation Committee, the Jackson Park Board, and is a
member of the American Optometric Association. He resides in Vienna,
WV.
Law added, “The foundation
board serves an extremely important role in the present and future of WVU at
Parkersburg. The board guides the growth and success of the Foundation
in working with the executive director to increase donor support. WVU at
Parkersburg is the college that our community built and the Foundation serves
to continue our community’s legacy of supporting public higher education in
the Mid-Ohio Valley.”
Since the foundation’s creation
in 1971, thousands of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s residents have benefited from the
WVU at Parkersburg Foundation and its donors that allow for the college to
continue its tradition of excellence in higher education. The Foundation
annually provides thousands of dollars in scholarships for deserving students,
grants for worthy faculty and staff, resources for improving the academic
programs of WVU at Parkersburg, and serves as the permanent supporter of the
college.

Foundation, Inc. is an independent, nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation managed
by its local Board of Directors of community members, business leaders, and
alumni that receives and administers private gifts from individuals and
