Board of Governors A.A.S.

An Associate Degree Program Designed for Adults

You have always wanted to earn your college degree, but family, work or other commitments come first. Well, we've heard what you had to say, so we designed a flexible affordable associate degree with you in mind.  The Board of Governors AAS is a flexible degree designed for busy adults who want to earn a college degree. It can save countless hours and dollars in your quest to achieve your educational goals by awarding college credit for work and life experiences. The Board of Governors AAS degree is one of several pathways into our Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA) Degree.

You can construct an individualized educational degree plan by combining:

bullet

Previously earned college credits

bullet

Credit earned for work and life experiences and current on-the-job experience through co-operative education.

bullet

Credits awarded through standardized testing (CLEP, DANTES, etc)

bullet

Traditional or distance courses offered through West Virginia's community and technical colleges

Your educational plan can be as individual as you are. And best of all, the program's flexibility allows you to complete your degree at your own pace.

Portfolio Evaluation - Credit for Work and Life Experiences

What you already know may be worth college credit. Adults continually learn new skills in many situations-on the job, through travel, reading, volunteering and special interests.

Get a head start on your degree program by completing a portfolio for prior work and life experiences. The portfolio process can validate your college level learning experiences and credentials as well as save precious time. The portfolio process is convenient, flexible and cost effective.

Applying for portfolio credit evaluation:

bullet

Compile required documentation for your portfolio

bullet

Submit your completed portfolio for credit evaluation
