    WVU turns down request by Wood County School Board that it establish a junior college

    Ohio University accepts request by Wood County School Board that it establish

    Ohio University discontinues junior college in Parkersburg
    WVU establishes a branch in Parkersburg on Emerson Avenue
    Wood County voters approve bond levy for construction of  a new facility at Poor Farm site
    Wood County Commission leases portion of Poor Farm site to WVU Board of Governors
