Bulgaria 2011Study Abroad Scholarship

 

Type of Program

 

1.         The scholarship will pay $1000 to help defray expenses of WVU Parkersburg’s Bulgaria 2011 Program.

Eligibility

 

1.         Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

2.         Must have completed at least 12 college-level credit hours at the time of application.

3.         Must have applied to and been accepted into the Bulgaria program.

Selection

 

  1. Selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee of West Virginia University at Parkersburg.  
  2. Complete the Study Abroad Scholarship Application.
  3. Submit a 300-500-word essay detailing how study abroad in Bulgaria will benefit your academic and/or career goals.
  4. Attach an unofficial copy of your college transcript(s) with this application.
  5. Submit two letters of recommendation.  (One letter must be from a WVU-P professor in your major area of study.)
  6. All application materials must be submitted to Assistant Dean Christine Post by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011.  They may be submitted via campus mail or electronically to Christine.post@mail.wvu.edu.

 

Student Responsibilities

 

  1. Student will be responsible for all trip costs not covered by the scholarship award.
  2. Student will be expected to participate in public relations events as requested by the Coordinator of the Office for Global Initiatives, the Director of Institutional Advancement, or the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation.
