TOPIC                                    DECISION/STATUS

 

Strategic Plan

Dotty asked for suggestions for the 2007-08 Strategic Plan that is being developed for the college.  The following were suggestions:

 

Enrollment Management

 

 * Develop video communications to enhance recruitment efforts.

 * Expand a data collection system on graduate job placement.

 

Recruitment

 

 * Develop and implement a wellness plan in cooperation with PEIA to enhance employees overall health.

 

 

Staff Development

Peggy Jamison supplied an e-mail with a list of available staff development programs during the upcoming month.  Dotty took names of employees interested in the programs.  Karen will check about the programs with Margaret Bailey.

 

It was suggested that we request group programs.

 

 

Registration Rocks

Violet has added the program to all CREW members’ calendars.  It will be held April 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  All counties are invited.  Anyone who can help with advising would be appreciated.

 

Other

 

A brochure was distributed on the rise of narcissism and self centeredness among students.

 

Jeff suggested that we add a section on plagiarism into the First Year Experience curriculum.

 

Sandy will:

  • Attend Wetzel County Career Fair with Violet;
  • Speak at 6th grade Career Day;
  • Attend Non-traditional Education meeting in Flatwoods on March 27;
  • Visit the new Career Center at OU next Friday.

 

Karen announced that she needed to finalize budget and all information needed to be to her by Friday.

 

Jeff announced that spring break advising would be 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

 

Pam Clevenger announced that Cathy Mutz would be having surgery at the end of March and would be out for the rest of the semester.  Sandy, Pam, and Christine will be available for ADA issues.

 

Charlene announced that there will be a Wellness Health Screen on April 25 and that the Tobacco Grant has been renewed.

 

Drema will be attending PEIA activities in Flatwoods.

 

Emmanuel and Chris will be going to West Liberty State College to get some information on DVD creation.  They will also attend a Career Fair at Presley Ridge.

 

Tom said that Jason Quinn will be presenting a comedy Club this weekend.

 

A Student Government dinner is being planned.

 

Augie announced that the audit exit interview of September needs updated.  Financial Aid is waiting on federal upgrades to the computer system and also need a new shredder.

 

Chris indicated that the trip to Morgantown with Transfer Students went very well.  It was also announced that Chris will be staying in his current position.

 

Cecelia and Leslie attended the national AACRO Conference in Boston, MA.  Records is preparing for priority registration.  Student ticket information is in OLSIS.
