Guest Speaker

Liz Baker attended the meeting to clarify some budget issues and concerns.  She explained some of the symbols and codes in the printout.  Liz noted that it is her objective to; a) make the budgets more student centered; b) easily accessible, easy to read and interpret.  She plans to have a budget printout by February 9, which has three headings:  Budget, Expenditure, and Balance.



 

 

Dean’s Updates

Danita noted that we should begin budget planning for 2008-09.  She stressed the need to begin thinking about proposals such as resources/programs, etc.

 

Performance appraisals will begin very soon with the end of March as a deadline.

 

The CREW Staff Development program sheet was passed around so that individuals could sign up for a presentation before the end of the semester.

Other

Leslie reported that Board Reports are due February 15, but they were turned in February 8.  She is working on the process to transmit high school transcripts electronically. 

 

Danita noted that she will be out of town February 11-14 and Tim will be the point person with Christine as backup for him.  She expressed thanks to Chris for teaching her SDEV 102 class on Tuesday.

 

Pam reported that the Health Fair set for Feb. 6 was cancelled due to lack of participation.  A fair is being planned for April or October.  The focus is “Mind, Body & Spirit” in conjunction with the psychology departments.  She is       her goals and objectives.  A faculty, staff and students.

 

Jeff Scott (attending for A. Kafer) reported that the Financial Aid office is processing 2008-09 aid, they have completed financial aid workshops at technical schools, and job/career fairs were visited over the weekend.

 

Sandy reported that she has been identifying career planning web assessments.

 

Cathy expressed thanks to everyone for the cards, food, prayers noting how much is was appreciated.  The said that the office is managing and that online workkeys are working.

 

Christine reported that a JCC food drive held last week was to benefit Farm Bureau/Ronald McDonald House.  JCC held their Mardi Gras yesterday.

 

Tim reported that we will participate on April 10 with Marietta College at the Comfort Inn from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  A Day at the Legislature will be held March 9.  He is reviewing PIQ’s for OATS.
