Search Updates |
Danita reported that she is reviewing applications today for the Wellness Coordinator and will begin calling for recommendations and interviews.
Tim reported that interviews for the position of Director of Admissions and Records will begin interviews on March 11.

Dean’s Updates |
CREW In-service Workshop will be tomorrow at the Holiday Inn Express. Danita asked that everyone be there by 8:15 a.m. so that we can promptly start the sessions at 8:20 a.m.
Danita reminded everyone to watch annual leave balances carefully.
Furniture needs for next year should be to Danita by March 5.
Summer flex sched8les will be held this year due to the heat in the building. We should all review the possibility of flexing hours.
The President’s retreat notes were distributed and Danita asked CREW to review. A strategic plan will be developed using this information. Bring your ideas to the retreat.
HB3215 – CREW discussed the impact of the bill and the effect the bill would have on West Virginia University at Parkersburg. The bill wants all community colleges in the state to look alike. West Virginia University at Parkersburg is a hybrid.

Committee Updates |
Pam reported that the Safety Committee met on Friday, February 22, 2008. The college safety plan is on our website and it is being questioned if it should be there at all or not.

Department Updates |
Tom reported that Relaxation Day went very well and students enjoyed it very much.
Sandy announced that at 11 a.m. on March 10, the Career Center will show G-Man – The Making of an FBI Agent, in the college theater. She will furnish popcorn, drinks, and door prizes.
Sandi S. reported that Leslie is in Morgantown at a Banner Training. Danita reported that zero level classes are not being eliminated, but they will no longer be required as a prerequisite.
Danita noted that we are being strongly encouraged to get degree audit running in Banner.
Drema reported that the Study Abroad applications are due March 4. A meeting will be held this after noon for the program.
Christine reported that she has been on the interview committee for a JCC faculty position.
Pam is going to JCC for tobacco education next week.
International lunch at JCC will be held on March 12.
Pam is working on placement of lock boxes for AED’s on campus.
Danita reported that meningococcal meningitis vaccine is required but not being enforced.
Heather will be back to work on March 10. Plans for the financial aid office redesign are underway. Augie reported that they are in the process of hiring additional VA student workers.
Tim reported that Orientation is being redesigned . An AdHoc committee is being developed. There will be an orientation designed toward different groups such as vets, adults, traditional students, etc. Orientation will be mandatory,
Sandy reported that there will be a Career Fair in Marietta at the Comfort Inn on April 10 and at the Parkersburg National Guard Armory on May 12.
