TOPIC                                    DECISION/STATUS

 

Announcements

Danita announced that Allison, the Health and Wellness Coordinator, will be leaving to accept a position as faculty in the Nursing Division.

 

It was noted that each division is to devise a plan for the Pandemic Flu.  This should include how the division will function both before, during and after the fact.  A lengthy discussion took place regarding possible procedures.  We will continue to the discussion after the first of the year. 

 

Danita reminded the directors that they need to continue working on the Strategic Plan for each division.

 

Danita discussed the restructuring of Student Services and renovations of the areas. 

 

Other

 

Chris announced that Judy Sheppard from PSA spoke at the scholar’s reception.  New scholarship information has been announced.  The Advising Center has been very busy preparing students for Spring semester. 

 

Augie reported that Financial Aid is working at a slower pace due to maternity leaves and annual leave.

 

Christine discussed student activities including finals week activities and adopt a family.  The flooding in the area is also causing an impact on students.

 

Cecelia announced that commencement is tomorrow night and she really needs a couple of people to assist with ushering.  Karen volunteered to assist. 

 

Cecelia noted that we need to emphasize to faculty at in-service they must not override “W’s” on final grade rosters.  Also discussed was last date of attendance for the grade  FIW, and W.  Spring semester purge will take place Friday evening. 

 

Allison is making final arrangements for January Weight Watchers and February 6 Health Fair.  She also discussed the 12 days of Christmas exercise program.

 

Tom reported that the student party last week was well attended.  Student Government will be ringing bells on Saturday.

Values for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs were discussed and the following were chosen:

2.             Respect- We believe in showing positive regard for all people, programs, and places. We shall conduct ourselves in a professional manner and in a way that exudes and upholds our ethical standards.

 

3.             Integrity- We believe this to be the foundation of college life and the cornerstone of a premier educational experience. This is essential to the operations of the college.

 

4.             Trust- We believe in assuring character. Competence and reliability in our services to our campus community.
