Reorganization Update |
The Student Services division will be in reorganization mode for the next few months. |

Danita asked the group to look at values and we will discuss them at a later meeting. Specifically we are to look at who we are and what we value.

What is the vision for your office? Define your office in one or to services. Develop a mission statement for individual areas. Report back by next week.

Other |
Danita reported that last Saturday’s Community Service day was a great success and that we will move toward more community involvement.
There was a lengthy discussion on room scheduling and how it is handled on campus.
Cecelia reported that Spring registration was on track and doing very well. There are ongoing discussions regarding student ID numbers and how to work with students who have forgotten theirs.
Danita noted that registration may be down slightly due to the fact that the Bookstore forgot to add charges on accounts of students in the amount of $45,000.
Allison attended a conference the West Virginia Governor’s Council on Workplace Wellness. She is in the process of finding a cost effective health insurance for our students.
Augie reported that he attended a Financial Aid conference at Snow Shoe that discussed changes and possible changes in financial aid. The federal government will be eliminating paper FAFSA’s and will no longer be printing them for students.
Presenting a financial planning program for students was also discussed.
HEAPS for fall semester is being processed.
Tim expressed the need for a jobs posting bulleting board. Jobs are being placed on the WEB page.
Drema reported that the Advising Center continues to serve students who have advisors but cannot connect with the advisor on campus.
Tom discussed liability concerning student organizations. The Student Government is assisting with the sponsoring of a train show on campus this weekend.
Danita reported that she attended Dean’s Council and requested Division Chair recommendations for student ambassadors.
Chris announced that next Wednesday will be WVU Team Day for Student Engagement.
Cecelia reported that Leslie Sims and her husband cleaned the hot house last Friday. The Graduation Committee will meet next week to plan the December 14, 2007 event.
Danita will be at WVASPA on Monday and Tuesday. |
