TOPIC DECISION/STATUS
|
Introductions |
Introductions for new Student Services personnel were made: Heidi Graduate Intern- Marketing Director of Rehabilitation Center and Ohio University Graduate student. Heidi will be working with us this semester on the Student Ambassador program and
Pam Santer was introduced as the Interim Wellness Coordinator. Pam will be located in room 1206.
Leslie Sims was introduced as the Acting Director of Admissions and Records.

E-campus |
Danita discussed issues that were encountered with E-campus the first week of classes. It was announced that Dana Mader will be in charge of E-campus. All problems should be sent to the Help Desk in Morgantown.
A concern was expressed that the only OIT person assigned to Records or Financial Aid has now been assigned the E-campus project.

Miscellaneous |
Danita noted that Financial Aid education for students continues to be an issue. We will work to add more education for students.
The SWAT team exercise on campus was discussed.
The Bookstore Committee will be meeting this week tand the buy back of books before and during finals week will be discussed. Other suggestions to discuss were: Lack of WVU at Parkersburg merchandise and the purchase and buy back policy.
Augie noted that 4.3 million dollars is scheduled to be disbursed this semester. This is the last semester aid will be distributed on campus. A process of mailing or direct deposit will be instituted next semester. He also discussed the present audit process.
After the first week of classes, the Business Office, Financial Aid Office, and Records Office will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday 8a.m. to 7 p.m.
Christine reported that all is well at JCC. The first Student Engagement was held Wednesday, January 16.
Leslie reported that in addition to missing Cecelia they also are missing an important work study student who is finishing up his nursing degree this semester.
She reported that there will be no on-line registration this weekend so that the Financial Aid and the Business Office can prepare for payouts.
Danita and Dr. Richards will jointly teach a second chance class to suspended students this semester. It will be a two hour class and begin Tuesday, January 29.
A MIX/Olsis brochure has been created for students.
Drema announced that to this point the Advising Office has worked with over 300 students. The scholarship letters are being prepared and the Study Abroad brochure is ready to be published.
Tom announced that there will be a Comedy Club on Saturday and Monday will be the volunteer day at Worthington school from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be to paint and clean. The first Student Engagement was held on Wednesday, February 16. He will also research a student music download program.
Sandy reported the Career Planning class has been cancelled due to low enrollment. The Career Planning Workshop for Student Engagement was not well attended. She discussed the possible purchase of Kuder.com. It is an on-line program covering most all information necessary for a student to be successful.
Danita reminder CREW members of the following:
- CREW In-service will be held on February 29. - Each area needs to be preparing their Strategic Plan. - CREW presentations will begin in February. - Pandemic Flu ideas need to be submitted to Danita by Friday, January 25. - We are waiting for legal to review the counseling release forms that we will begin using. -
