Staff Council Minutes
September 8, 2004
Present: Rodney Parker, Pat Mollohan, Patsy Bee, Donna Uhl, Lauriel Edwards, Karen Branham, Debbie Richards, Al Collins, Violet Mossor, Becky Ash, Leslie Sims, Linda Cutright
Absent: Lisa Gianettino, Brenda Wells, Doc Moore, Christine Post
Welcome and call to order by Rodney.
President Gnage spoke about our role in strategic planning.
Approval of minutes motion by Violet and seconded by Lauriel.
Violet reported on BOA. Joe announced that WVUP will be partnering with Potomac State College of WVU to provide our Criminal Just Program online. He also reported that NCA provided a positive report upon their exit interview in April and their report has now been received that supports their recommendation for ten year accreditation.. The report will be sent to a Readers Panel for review and a final report will be sent to the college by November. Dotty Muir reported that an orientation has been developed for transfer students. David Bell reported that BIDS will offer a class in woodcrafts.
Paul Daughtery needs to know how much money we need for the up coming year.
Three new committees will be organized for education, resources and campus improvement.
ACCE next meeting September 16.
The treasurer’s report was not available due to technical problems. (Is now attached)
Tim Thorn declined the EOM for September. Judy McCullough replaced him.
There was discussion about a spring fundraiser flea market some weekend. Staff would sell refreshments. We will need volunteers for this.
Carol St.Peter will be doing the white elephant sale for the American Sampler. It will be set up in the Cafeteria this year.
EOM for October is Tammy Harper. Congratulations!!
