STAFF COUNCIL MINUTES

December 10, 2002

NOVEMBER MINUTES APPROVED: A motion made by Bill Dunbar, and seconded by J.B. Skidmore was approved by unanimous vote to accept the November minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Melody Mercer

Classified Staff Scholarship $ 55,345.94

Children of Classified Staff Scholarship 18,118.96

BOARD OF ADVISORS REPORT – JoAnn Backus

A new mission statement and Master Plan passed.

ACCE REPORT – Violet Mosser

Next meeting is December 12, 2002.

 

OLD BUSINESS

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON – Drema reported that plans are underway for the Christmas Luncheon to be held December 20th at noon. Centerpiece door prizes are to be donated by each office or division. Please send to Linda Cutright in the Library. Meat will be prepared by AVI. Please bring a covered dish.

RESOLUTION – Patsy finished collecting signatures for the HEPC representation resolution to be submitted.

CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATING – Staff Council wanted to thank Sandy Swisher for all the goodies and all the other help at the tree decorating party in front of the President’s Office.

ACCE POSTCARD CAMPAIGN – Plans are still being finalized for the postcard campaign to the state legislators.

AMERICAN SAMPLER - A grand total of $ 1,310.12 was deposited into the Staff Council Activity Fund.

NEW BUSINESS

FLOATING HOLIDAY – The governor gave state employees ½ day off on Christmas Eve. Since that is a regularly scheduled holiday for WVU at Parkersburg our employees will enjoy another ½ day floating holiday.

NORTH TOWER CONSTRUCTION – Al addressed the concerns voiced about the North Tower Construction.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – Lennie Moore, Press Operator III, is employee of the month for January. Congratulations Lennie!
