Planning Council

Present: Joe Badgley, Paul Milhoan, Mary Beth Busch, Dotty Muir, Jack Simpkin, David White, John Gorrell, Jenny Keup, Marie Foster Gnage, David Cumberledge, and Rebecca Phillips.
Michelle Bissell attended in the absence of Patsy Bee.
Absent: Connie Dziagwa, Curt Fulmer, and Jan Miller.
Update on Comprehensive Master Plan and Safety Plan
The Master Plan group is planning a meeting on May 16th. The Safety Plan is being edited by Connie Dziagwa.
Report from Sub-Committee on Strategic Plan Goals and Objectives
The Sub-Committee met and drafted additional language which will update the report card template. President Gnage suggested council members ask their constituents to begin to work through the template for their report. Dean Badgley will send Patsy Bee the addendum to the template. The subcommittee will also develop a template for a “College” report.
Objectives Gathered by Planning Council Constituents
Change “work space” to “offices and learning spaces”
Add “Develop and implement a wellness plan in cooperation with PEIA and other
partners to enhance employees overall health”
Change “Develop” an enrollment management plan to “Implement”
Add “Develop video communications to enhance recruitment efforts”
Change “Develop an honors program” to “Use honors program to recruit and
retain Promise Scholars and other high achieving students”
Add “Implement the JCC expansion plan and develop associated niche programs”
Add “Increase access to student support services”
Add “Determine level of satisfaction of students”-
Dotty Muir will research surveys used at other schools
Add “Expand a data collection system on graduate job placement”
Add “Develop Student Government plan that focuses on Enrollment Management”

Completed- Move Wood County Schools LPN program to the campus at WVUP
Implement College Transition Initiative Program

Expand offerings to Roane, Jackson and Ritchie Counties
Section II
Completed- Offer work keys access to December graduates as well as May graduates
Continued- Seek national accreditation of bachelor degree in business administration
Survey graduates to assess their perceptions of program quality
Section III
Completed- Provide new non-credit opportunities for upgrading workplace skills
Add to the number of business partners participating in the Co-Op Program
Continued- Provide new non-credit opportunities for upgrading workplace skills

Section IV
Completed- Locate Wood County School LPN on the WVUP campus
Complete AAS/Technical Studies programs with Washington County
Career Center

Partner with area health care providers for the delivery of CAN and other
health care programs
Partner with ABE program for delivery of Hit the Ground Running program
Partner with area businesses and industry for the establishment of internship

Code of Ethics
President Gnage requested council members look over the Code of Ethics and bring any comments to the next meeting. She advised the Code is not part of procedure—it is more of a proclamation.
