Enrollment Management Objectives

Decision/Status

Dotty reviewed with the committee the following items that were suggested at the last meeting as focus targets for the Enrollment Management Committee to concentrate on for the year:

--Students without degree objectives.

-- Freshman to sophomore retention rate with a focus on developmental students.

-- Students that leave the college and their success rate in other schools.

--Students that transfer from other schools.

--Board of Governors Associate in Arts degree eligible    students.

--Noel Levitz Student Success Survey results could be used assist in student satisfaction.

--Reorientation procedure review

--Orientation class as a standard.

--GUS program

--Target marketing on BOG AA & Early Childhood Degrees.

After a lengthy discussion on suggested topics, it was determined that some of the topics were already being reviewed by other faculty/staff committees on campus.  Those topics were eliminated by the committee.

Joe indicated that Noel Levitz information is available in the data information booklet that was distributed in the fall.  He noted that we have an abundance of data that needs to be defined and sorted as to what is and is not useful to us.   It was suggested that student data be made available viathe college intranet in order to be used by various group on campus.  Dotty indicated that she would discuss this with Curt Fulmer.

The committee decided on four topics to focus on this academic year. The topics are as follows:

Board of Governors Associate in Arts Degree

Students with Undecided Majors

   Alita Sellers

   Tina Buchannon

   Andy Grimm

Orientation

   Joe Badgley

Complete Withdrawal

Students with Undecided Majors – committee will look at the student’s needs and work more closely with individual students.

Orientation – suggestions for consideration were:

  Orientation classes offered as one credit in five week sections. 

  Orientation classes offered as a career guide.  Divisions using these classes as an introduction to for the undecided student.  Degree orientations were also suggested.

   Dotty asked that additional ideas be developed to use at student orientation sessions.

It was decided that the sub-committees will meet as individual groups throughout the remainder of this semester and the beginning of next.  The committee will meet again as a whole on February 9, 2004 at 12:30 pm.
