PURSE BINGO. Staff Council is pleased to announce that the Purse Bingo Fund Raiser made more than $3,000 for our Scholarship Funds. Special thanks to Drema Starkey for all her hard work! (submitted 5/7/12)

REMINDER. The campus is closed on Tuesday, May 8 for primary election day.

RAFFLE TICKETS. Raffle tickets are available in advance of Purse Bingo for a Coach Purse/change purse that contains a night's stay at the Hampton Inn, dinner for two at Cracker Barrel, $100 cash, bottle of wine and much more valued at over $700. Tickets are $1 ea or 6 for $5 Contact Patsy Bee at ext. 200.

SECRET PAL. We would like to encourage all staff, faculty and administrators to participate.  It is a fun, morale-building way to get to know each other. The gifts are limited to $5, so it can be fun and inexpensive.  Just print off the form, http://www.wvup.edu/staff_council/secret_pal_form.htm fill it out and turn it into Tess Martin (Room 1210) or Sharon Smith (Room 1208) by June 1, 2012.  We look forward to another fun year. CHORALE CONCERT. The College Chorale of West Virginia University at Parkersburg will present its Spring Concert: in time of daffodils, on Sunday, May 6, at 3 pm in the College Theatre. The concert will include selections by Morton Lauridsen, David Dickau and Beatle tunes arranged for The King's Singers. The concert is FREE, and the public is invited. (submitted 5/2/12)

RELAY FOR LIFE. Phi Theta Kappa invites everyone on campus (and your friends) to join the West Virginia University at Parkersburg Relay for Life Team. The Relay events will begin with the opening ceremony at 7 pm on Friday, May 18 with closing ceremonies on Saturday, May 19 at 10 am. GRAD FAIR.
Your Campus Bookstore will be holding a Grad Fair for May Graduates on Wednesday, April 18th from 8:30 to 4:30.Stop by and purchase your graduation attire, announcements, diploma frames, etc. All items will be available in the store up until May 11 at 1 p.m.

TUITION WAIVER. Employees seeking to use the WVU Parkersburg Faculty and Staff Tuition Waiver Program for themselves, a spouse, or dependent student, as defined in BOG Policy B-55, must complete the application form and submit it to the Student Services Office (Room 1209) no later than 4 pm, Tuesday, May 1 for the FALL 2012 Term. Please note that fees are NOT covered by the tuition waiver, and students must meet the minimum standards for academic progress to receive the waiver. A new application must be filed for each semester, and only current students who have been accepted into a program will be eligible. LIBRARY ADDITION. The Library has added Education in Video to its database collection. This contains over 1000 streaming videos presenting teaching demonstrations, lectures, documentaries, and primary-source footage of students and teachers in actual classrooms. DRIVER TRAINING.Per new WV State Travel Regulations, any employee wishing to drive a state-owned or rental vehicle, and/or file for personal mileage reimbursement must first complete a mandatory, state-approved Defensive Driving Course. QUEBEC 2012. The Higher Education Policy Commission is again sponsoring an eight-day study abroad opportunity at Laval University in Quebec City. Students from West Virginia colleges will travel together on a bus, stay in Laval residence halls and experience one of the oldest cities in North America. The $650 cost includes most expenses.
