Payroll Deduction Winner.  Pat Mollohan has won her choice of a NASCAR trailer rig or official pit cap. Both have been personally autographed by Jeff Gordon. Each item is valued at over $25.  November’s prize will also be a NASCAR item. More than $900 in prizes have been awarded to payroll deductees in the last 11 months.  Payroll deduction forms are available at the Foundation Office or by calling 424-8340. Faculty Engagement Session Please remember to attend the Faculty Engagement session scheduled for Monday, October 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Room on "Exercising Your Right to Vote!".   A representative of the League of Women Voters of West Virginia will be presenting a film regarding the importance of voting and the Wood County Clerk’s office will  be present to provide voter registration and information.  (Submitted by Rhonda Richards 9/28/07)

Missing Keys.  An extra set of keys for a state car is missing.  The keys, for the newest Ford Fusion in the college's vehicle fleet, have been missing since last week.  If you have used a state car in the past week, please check to see if you have the keys and return them to the Business Office.  (Submitted by Wayne Riley 9/26/07)

Heart Walk Challenge.  I would like to challenge all faculty and staff to donate $2 to the American Heart Association Heart Walk. This is a wonderful event in which WVU Parkersburg has participated in the past, and we want this year to be a success as well. Relay for Life Project.  The WVU Parkersburg Relay for Life Team is holding a raffle for a WVU Longaberger basket which includes a T-shirt, hat, tote bag, travel mug, golf towel, and bottle koozie.  Contact Amy Richards, Leslie Sims, Sharon Smith, Dennis Bell, Pat Mollohan, Tom Yencha, Vickie Yencha, Christine Post, Cheryl Robinson or Debbie Kafer for tickets. National Hispanic Heritage Month.  Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2007, has been designated as National Hispanic Heritage Month by President Bush.  A 44-minute film, "Hispanic Americans: One or Many Cultures?" will be shown in the theatre at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 1, as part of the Social Justice Awareness Film Series in observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month.  MORE  (Submitted by Debbie Richards 9/24/07)

Bake Sale/Silent Auction A bake sale and silent auction to benefit the American Heart Association will be held on Thursday, September 27th, outside of the cafeteria. Grantwriting Workshop.  Katrina Brown of the Washington DC office of the Foundation Center will visit campus on Thursday, Oct. 11,  to inspect the Cooperative Collection. As part of this visit, she will conduct a grant writing proposal workshop from 10AM-12PM in computer lab D. Casino Night.  Staff Council invites you to attend its annual Casino Night, to be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 12.   Advanced tickets will go on sale shortly at $5 per ticket, which at the door will be redeemed for $10,000 in funny money (or what we like to call Marie Bucks!) If you wait and purchase tickets at the door, they will be $5 for $5,000. Proceeds benefit  the Children of Classified Staff Scholarship Fund. (Submitted by Pat Mollohan 9/18/07)

Salary FAQs for Classified and Non-Classified Employees.  A link to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)  regarding October salary increases is available on the WVU Parkersburg Human Resources web site.
