Change in Telephone Dialing Procedure. Permissive 10-digit dialing begins July 28 in West Virginia. After Feb. 27, 2009, all calls dialed to West Virginia numbers -- including local calls -- will require the dialing of 10 digits. MORE (Submitted 7/23/08)

Support of the Community. Show the WVU Parkersburg campus community supports the area by visiting the Downtown Farmers' Marketplace. The farmers' market is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays through August in Bicentennial Park in downtown Parkersburg. (Submitted 7/24/08)
Summer Deferred Payment Program (SDPP) Deadline.Reminder: The deadline for signing up for the Summer Deferred Payment Program (SDPP) or changing an existing deduction amount is July 31. SDPP allows those employed between nine and 11 months during the academic year to defer some of their pay until the summer months. Power Outage. Be advised that at 4 p.m., Friday, July 25, all electrical power to the campus will be shut down to install a new transformer. The power will remain off through Sunday, July 27. Contact Dave White (ext. 225) with any related issues or questions. (Submitted 7/8/08)

Host Family Sought. WVU Parkersburg anticipates welcoming an exchange student from Germany in the fall. The student will be here for the 2008-2009 academic year. A host family is being sought for her. The family will receive a monthly stipend. If you or someone you know might be interested, contact Emmanuel Ogwude at ext. 243. Foundation Note. Effective July 1, Jenny Keup is a full-time employee of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation, Inc. She will continue in the role of Executive Director of the Foundation and will continue to work with college administration and employees. (Submitted 7/01/08)

Planned Systems Outage July 12-13. Several systems will be unavailable from 10:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 to accommodate a power switch replacement at WVNET.
