LIBRARY ADDITION. The Library has added Education in Video to
its database collection. This contains over 1000 streaming videos presenting
teaching demonstrations, lectures, documentaries, and primary-source footage of
students and teachers in actual classrooms. Education in Video is available on

PTK FUNDRAISER. Phi Theta Kappa is holding a fundraiser to take students to the 94th International Convention in Nashville, Tenn. in April.
The organization is selling gift cards for BELK department store's big spring sale, which takes place April 21 from 6 to 10 am.
The cards are $5, which the buyer receives back with the first purchase that morning.

with the support of our local American Cancer Society, is proud to
continue "Daisy Days." With your $10 donation, you receive a fresh-cut daisy

miracles in bloom each day at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. All proceeds
benefit Camden Clark’s Cancer Center, which provides clinical trials, modern

PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS. Nominations are now being accepted for
the 2012 U.S. Professors of the Year awards, sponsored by CASE and the Carnegie
Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The program is open to educators at
2– and 4-year institutions in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam,
Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. National and state award winners will

NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING. At its
meeting on February 8, 2012, the WVU Parkersburg Board of Governors approved a
proposed amendment to its existing Sabbatical Leave Policy, B-29, and hereby
issues notice of a 30-day public comment period in accordance with its
rulemaking policy. This revision serves only to clarify that application for
sabbatical leave is intended for tenured faculty because of the expectation for
continuing service as provided in W.Va. Code § 18B-8-3. This clarification was
unnecessary when the policy language originated because today’s categories of
non-tenured faculty were nonexistent. (Opportunities for professional
development of non-tenured faculty remain available during the terms of their
appointments. This policy revision may be accessed under
Proposed Policies
or in the Office of the President.Written comments pertaining to this policy

QUEBEC 2012. The
Higher Education Policy Commission is again sponsoring an eight-day study abroad
opportunity at Laval University in Quebec City. Students from West Virginia
colleges will travel together on a bus, stay in Laval residence halls and
