  • Seeking Sculptures.  Two sculptures from the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation student art collection have been misplaced.  The heart sculpture was previously located in the Health Center, and the "Two Wheeler" bronze sculpture was in the Education Division office.  Have you seen either one?  If so, please contact Patsy Bee.

  • New Parking ProcedureEffective this fall semester, WVU Parkersburg Faculty, Staff, and Students utilizing campus parking facilities will be required to obtain a parking permit.  All employees -- Administration, Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, Staff, Part-Time Staff and Mountaineer Temps -- must obtain a hang tag from the Parking Office (Rm. #1114).  For details, read August 4th email regarding the procedure.  (Submitted by J.B.   • Welcome:  The Financial Aid office welcomes Theresa Spitznaugle and JCC welcomes Mike Brohard.  Both are from ManPower Temporary Services and are filling in for regular employees on leave.   • Physical Plant Staffing Changes.  Cheri Parker will now be the “Lead” person for the afternoon shift custodians.  She will work with George Ambrose who moved to afternoons from midnight shift.  Midnight shift welcomes William Morris and Sara Hutton as new custodians.  (Submitted by Peggy Jameson 7/6/10)
  • Sympathy Note.  Recca Dawn Cummings Dunbar, the wife of Jackson County Center staff member Bill Dunbar, died July 3.  The campus community extends its deepest sympathies.  MORE
  • Student Services' Relocations. The Student Services Division has relocated a number of its operations and offices to enhance its customer services to students.
  • Faculty Emerita is literary winner. WVU Parkersburg Professor Emerita Devika Malhotra is a 2010 literary winner in The Power of Memoir contest sponsored by the National Association of Memoir Writers and held at the San Mateo (CA) County Fair.  Devika took top honors for her "The Dance of Life" memoir.  MORE
  • WVU Graduate Tuition Waiver Program. Information and forms regarding the procedures and policies governing graduate tuition waivers at West Virginia University have been re-located on the WVU Provost webpage.   • Found!  A black commencement hood with orange and tan trim was turned in to the Bookstore after Graduation. The faculty member that may have lost this item may see Michele in the Bookstore.  (Submitted by Michele McVey 6/14/10)
  • Oil Spill Boom Project. I am collecting nylon pantyhose for a program which makes them into booms to soak up oil from oil spills.  They have warehouses full of these booms for oil spill emergencies.  Right now, however, all are going to help clean up the oil spill in the Gulf.  So, if you are wondering what to do with your old pantyhose, please give them to me and I will send them to the Matter of Trust organization.  To find out more about this program, visit this link.  (Submitted by Carol St. Peter 6/8/10)

  • Welcome. Welcome to Vincent Mensah who started as Chief Financial Officer on June 1.
  • Super Star Days.  Student Services will have three Super Star Days over the next several months. STAR stands for Student Testing, Advising and Registration. The remaining dates are July 21st, and August 6th. The events will be held in the multipurpose room. During each event, there will be a general information table. Approximately 75 students are expected at each event.  We would like to open up the general information table to any campus office that has or will have material that they would like for us to promote.  Please send or give materials to Christine Post.  Contact her with questions.  (Submitted 4/16/10)
